Amarillo College is thrilled to announce its upcoming series of vibrant and captivating performances, collectively known as the Keep Us Live! Arts Performance Series. This initiative, sponsored by Keep Us Live!, will feature five live presentations, including four enchanting piano concerts and an enthralling new musical production titled “Between the Lines,” performed by AC theater students.
Commencing on October 1st, the Arts Performance Series will take place every Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Concert Hall Theater on AC’s Washington Street Campus. Kicking off the series is “Medleys Buffet,” a delightful piano performance by the talented duo of Dr. Bruce Lin and Dr. Nathaniel Fryml. Their repertoire will span a variety of musical genres, from classical opera to contemporary hits, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all music enthusiasts.
Dr. Bruce Lin, the director of piano at AC, expressed his excitement about offering a diverse range of musical entertainment to the community, free of charge. He is confident that this year’s Arts Performance Series will exceed expectations, thanks to exceptional music selections and the participation of highly accomplished guest artists.
The series will continue on November 12th with “For the Beauty of the Earth: Hymns and Folksongs,” presented by Dr. Eric M. Daub, a retired associate professor of music. Dr. Daub will showcase a collection of inspirational hymns and beloved folk songs that have deeply resonated with him throughout his career.
On February 11th, the series will feature “Jam with Love 2025,” where the talented faculty and students will come together to perform songs that embody the spirit of Valentine’s Day. This uplifting concert promises to warm the hearts of the audience, providing a much-needed respite from the mid-winter blues.
As April unfolds, on the 1st, accomplished pianist John Bayless will take the stage with his improvisational prowess in “Fool’s Paradise.” Known for his imaginative interpretations of popular music, Bayless will delight the audience with a diverse repertoire that spans opera, Broadway, movie soundtracks, and even Beatles classics.
Finally, on April 27, 2025, at 3 p.m., the Experimental Theatre will host the mesmerizing musical “Between the Lines.” This enchanting performance follows the journey of Delilah, an outsider who finds solace in a book and discovers a connection with the charming Prince Oliver. As Delilah’s reality blends with her fantasies, she learns to navigate her world while keeping her dreams alive.
