League One

League One is the third tier of professional football in England, operating below the Premier League and the EFL Championship. It is part of the English Football League (EFL) system and consists of 24 teams that compete in a league format. Each season, teams play each other twice, once at home and once away, earning points for wins and draws. The league operates a promotion and relegation system, where the top teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Championship, while the bottom teams face relegation to League Two, the fourth tier. League One serves as an important platform for clubs to advance to higher levels of competition and for players to showcase their talent.
